Modern therapy, meaningful change.
Empowering you with the tools to thrive.

Welcome to Kin Psychology

(Kin is derived from the Japanese word 'kintsugi')

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with gold, silver, or platinum, highlighting the cracks instead of hiding them. It symbolizes the beauty of imperfection and the idea that something can become more beautiful through its flaws and history. My therapeutic approach draws on this philosophy, guiding individuals to honour their emotional wounds and experiences as integral parts of their personal narratives. Rather than aiming for perfection, we focus on healing and transforming these "cracks" into sources of strength, resilience, and self-compassion, allowing clients to embrace their full, authentic selves.

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns that impact their emotions and behaviour. Practical strategies empower clients to develop healthier ways of thinking, coping, and responding to life’s challenges.

Cognitive-Behavioural Family Therapy (CBFT)

Cognitive-Behavioural Family Therapy (CBFT) focuses on improving family dynamics by identifying and addressing communication patterns. CBFT enhances family dynamics by identifying and addressing unhelpful communication patterns and behaviours. Involving all family members in the therapeutic process fosters healthier relationships and stronger support systems for individuals.

Narrative Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (NCBT)

Narrative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (NCBT) helps clients explore and reframe the stories they tell about themselves, shifting from feelings of victimhood to empowerment. By understanding how personal narratives shape their experiences, clients can rewrite their life story and reclaim agency over their journey.
