The Art of Kintsugi
The Art of Kintsugi
Kintsugi is a Japanese philosophy and art form where broken pottery is repaired with gold, silver, or lacquer. The idea behind it is that the cracks and imperfections make the piece more beautiful and unique, rather than hiding or ignoring them. It symbolizes resilience and finding beauty in the process of healing and transformation.

Kintsugi in My Counselling Approach

I integrate the philosophy of Kintsugi into my counselling practice to help you view challenges and setbacks as part of your healing journey. Like broken pottery mended with gold, Kintsugi teaches us to embrace imperfections and see them as opportunities for growth. In therapy, this means:
-
Embracing Struggles: I strive to acknowledge past difficulties as valuable experiences that shape who you are.
-
Building Resilience: Like Kintsugi, your healing and strength come from challenges, helping you grow into a stronger version of yourself.
-
Shifting Perspectives: View your “cracks” not as flaws but as unique parts of your story.
By embracing Kintsugi, I hope to help you see your struggles as stepping stones toward healing and transformation.
